Recycling in a candle business - Part 1

Updated: Apr 13, 2019

To me personally recycling is a big thing, I do not see the point in wasting something that can be used again. As a child I was known to be extremely creative with old stockings; creating the most beautiful dresses for my Barbie dolls. And while those Barbie dolls looked amazing, I know that re-purposing those old stockings isn’t going to save the planet.

I do believe that every little bit helps so I am trying to find new ways every day in my personal life, and my business, to become more environmentally friendly. Something simple as using a reusable container for your lunch instead of the single use takeaway containers, these little changes can all add up and have a real impact on this planet.

One of the biggest ideas I support, in my business, is the reusing of packing materials. I receive hundreds of boxes filled with bubble wrap and other squishy stuff each year from my suppliers when they send me my orders. So it would be a waste to throw them out and buy new packing materials myself.

Instead of purchasing new and pretty boxes to send my products to my customers, I have made the decision to re-use the packing boxes and materials I receive. They might not look great, but they make me feel all kinds of warm and fuzzy inside, and I hope they do to you too; knowing that we both have done our small part.

I have also written a blog on how to reuse your candle jars!
